The person who issued the permit for the construction of a helipad on the grounds of the Nikšić General Hospital was suspected of the criminal offense of negligent performance of duties, and died during the investigation, the Police Directorate announced.
The statement states that the Nikšić police, acting on a report filed by a group of citizens in 2023 regarding the construction of a helipad within the grounds of the Nikšić General Hospital, took investigative measures and actions in coordination with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić.
"After measures and actions taken in cooperation with the competent prosecutor's office, it was determined that there is a basis for suspicion that the criminal offense of negligent work in service was committed by the person who issued the permit for the construction of the aforementioned heliport. However, during the investigative procedure, the person suspected of having committed the aforementioned criminal offense died, which is why the aforementioned procedure was suspended," the Police Directorate said in a statement.
