Due to threats made to Bojan Popović yesterday in the courtroom of the Higher Court in Podgorica, a report was filed with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office today against Miloš Medenica, who, according to the claims of special state prosecutors, formed a criminal organization of which Popović is also a member.
Yesterday, while Popović was giving his testimony, Medenica told the accused - "You were crying then, so you can't remember...you will cry," after which special prosecutor Jovan Vukotić requested that these threats be entered into the record.
The complaint against Medenic was filed today by Popović's legal representative, attorney Damir Lekić, due to the existence of reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of endangering security to the detriment of his client.
"On March 18.03.2025, 08.30, at 15:20 a.m., a main trial hearing was held before the High Court in Podgorica in the case with the business code Ks.br. XNUMX/XNUMX before a panel of judges consisting of the president of the panel - judge Vesna Kovačević and the panel members - judges Simo Bulatović and Boris Bulatović. In that criminal proceeding, Miloš Medenica and the applicant Bojan Popović were among the accused, and at the aforementioned hearing, the presentation of the defense by the accused was scheduled. During the presentation of the defense by the accused Bojan Popović, while the applicant was sitting behind the dock, the accused Miloš Medenica addressed him with the words '... you will cry again...', which words were recorded by the trial court panel in the minutes of the main trial, and which words caused Bojan Popović (the applicant) to feel fear and insecurity for his own life and body, as well as for the life and body of his close relatives," the report states.
It was explained that the applicants were Bojan Popović and his cousin Marko Popović: "According to operational data that has come into possession in the meantime, information has emerged that Miloš Medenica in the previous period gave instructions and supported certain persons to commit several criminal acts to the detriment of Marko Popović, including the explosion of materials under Article 327 of the Criminal Code of Montenegro, illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials under Article 403 of the Criminal Code of Montenegro and others, because on his orders certain persons were tasked with causing a fire in a house owned by the applicant Bojan Popović and his cousin Marko Popović."
Lekić suggested to the prosecution that the report be processed immediately upon receipt:
"And to initiate a survey or investigation procedure in which the reported person Miloš Medenica and the reporting person Bojan Popović will be heard as soon as possible, and then to inspect the case files of the Higher Court in Podgorica, business code Ks.br. 15/20, and possibly, if necessary, to hear all or only certain persons involved in the aforementioned case in the Higher Court in Podgorica within the main hearing, provided that in any case it would be necessary to hear the president and members of the trial panel and other participants in the main hearing who could establish through their testimony what the reporting person stated, and in order to establish all the facts about the commission of the criminal offense referred to in Article 168, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Montenegro to the detriment of Bojan Popović."
