Azerbaijani citizen IB (57) and his son EB (23) were arrested after they allegedly attacked their compatriot and attempted to kill him with a knife last night, the Police Directorate announced.
"Officers of the Budva Security Department were informed yesterday at around 20:30 p.m. via the Duty Service that a male person was brought to the Budva Emergency Medical Service for medical assistance with injuries in the form of a stab wound to the abdomen and a fractured arm, and that his life was in danger. Upon arrival at the HMP premises, police officers identified the injured person as a 23-year-old Azerbaijani citizen," the police statement said.
The police said that immediately upon learning of the incident, urgent measures and actions were taken to identify the perpetrators, and the scene of the incident where the injured party was staying was located in a short time, which was a collective private accommodation in the Lastva settlement.
During a search of the area in the immediate vicinity of the crime scene, a knife was found and seized, which is suspected to have been used in the commission of the crime.
"In coordination with the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica and after the criminal and operational measures and actions taken, Azerbaijani citizens were identified and found: IB (57) and his son EB (23), who are suspected of having attacked and injured the injured party after a brief verbal and physical conflict with the injured party with a sharp blade - a knife, after which they left the scene.
"After collecting the necessary information, IB and EB were deprived of their liberty on suspicion of committing the crime of attempted murder," the police statement said.
The suspects will be brought to the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica for further proceedings today.
