There will be nine interceptors on Montenegrin roads starting Thursday.
"The activities of the Mobile Police Interceptor Unit will have a wide range of application of police powers to control traffic and drivers throughout the territory of Montenegro, as well as in certain locations and in night conditions," the Police Directorate announced.
During the summer tourist season, it is added, the number will be increased with a primary focus on locations in coastal municipalities in order to protect the lives of citizens and prevent traffic accidents with the most serious consequences.
"In order to raise the level of traffic culture and awareness of the consequences of violating regulations and traffic rules, the Police Directorate continuously conducts campaigns of various nature, and through the media informs the public about its activities and appeals to citizens to contribute to preserving their own safety and the safety of other road users," the police announced.
