by a final verdict of the Higher Court in Podgorica, former director of the Police Directorate Slavko Stojanovic He was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison for the criminal offenses of abuse of official position and illegal possession of weapons.
Judge Igor Djurickovic In the explanation of the verdict, he stated, among other things, that the court had undoubtedly established that Stojanović, as an official and public figure, the director of the Police Administration, had committed abuse of office.
"This is how things stand. The defendant Slavko Stojanović is guilty because he committed the criminal offense of abuse of official position and illegal possession of weapons. The court sentences him to three years and six months and three months, or a single sentence of three years and eight months in prison. In the way that, after a 'man' truck was stopped on March 31, 2018 with about 120 packages of 'FM' cigarettes, without paid duties, excise duties, customs and taxes in the amount of 105.509,40 euros, Stojanović called Enes Baković and ordered the truck to continue moving. Stojanović informed Enis Baković that the truck was under escort by the SDT and SPO and that they should release it so as not to jeopardize the action. Baković conveyed this order to To Sasa Milic", to release a truck with 120 packages loaded with cigarettes," said Judge Đuričković in explaining the verdict.

He added that Stojanović was illegally keeping a Browning pistol with 20 bullets in the living room of his house.
"The factual situation was established from personal and material evidence. Defendant Stojanović admitted that, at the request of a friend, he told Baković to let the truck go. He did not say who his friend was," the judge said in the explanation of the verdict.
He added that Stojanović admitted to the basic form of the criminal offense of abuse of official position, which carries a sentence of six months to five years in prison, but not the more serious form of this criminal offense, which carries a maximum sentence of two to 12 years in prison.
"There is no reliable evidence of how many packages were loaded on half of the truck, while the other half contained beer packaging. However, based on the statements of police witnesses and the official record, it can be reliably determined that there were 120 packages. The police officers who stopped the truck did not count the packages, but rather received information from the truck driver, Igor Baćović," said judge Igor Đuričković.

Presenting his defense before the court in September last year, Stojanović stated, among other things.
"On the critical day, March 31.3.2018, XNUMX, I was called by a friend who, as far as I remember, told me that a truck with cigarettes had been stopped and asked me to help him because his family's honor was at stake. I realized that it was an illegal transport. I felt a human need to help, without considering the consequences," said Stojanović.
Stojanović was charged with criminal offenses of abuse of official position and illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials. It is suspected that he damaged the state coffers by 112.504 euros by abusing his official position.
