On March 20, the Brazilian Federal Police (FP) arrested a 31-year-old Montenegrin citizen and a two-year-old Serbian citizen who attempted to transport 47 kilograms of cocaine from Brazil to Serbia.
This is stated in an official statement from the FP, which explained that they were arrested on a cruise ship that docked in Angra dos Reis.
"The men, a 33-year-old Serbian citizen and a 31-year-old Montenegrin, planned to transport 47 kilograms of cocaine from Brazil to Serbia. After cruise company employees became suspicious of the men's behavior, the FP was notified, which found the drugs in hidden compartments of the ship's tender boat. The two foreigners were arrested on the spot, and the drugs were confiscated," the statement reads.
It was explained that they planned to retrieve the hidden drugs from the tender during the night, wearing maintenance uniforms belonging to the shipping company, so as not to attract attention and arouse suspicion.
"They will be charged with international drug trafficking, threats and conspiracy to traffic drugs," the statement said.
