The Civic Movement (GP) URA condemned the acquittals of the defendants in the "Envelope" affair.
The party stated that this represents another blow to the sanity of citizens and a brutal collapse of the integrity of the judiciary and all institutions of this country.
"Instead of justice being served, and those responsible for the most obvious corruption confirmed by video footage being punished in accordance with the law, citizens are once again witnessing a shameful travesty of justice and humiliation of the basic principles of the rule of law," the URA GP statement reads.
They add that the "Envelope" affair is a symbol of a rotten system and illegal financing of political parties and election campaigns.
"Any relativization of that act, such as this court epilogue, sends the message that there are still trapped and rotten institutions of the system in Montenegro," it states.
The URA Police Headquarters remind that the "Envelope" affair produced, as they said, the most massive civil protests in the last 30 years, under the name "Resist", which had the most significant impact on accelerating the fall of the thirty-year regime.
"The citizens of Montenegro deserve truth, justice and institutions that work in their interests - not a system that persistently tries to preserve old schemes and protect the actors of the scandals that have destroyed this country for decades," the statement said.
