The Association of Professional Journalists of Montenegro (DPNCG) calls on the Police Directorate and the State Prosecutor's Office to take the necessary actions following the threats that were received at the Vijesti editorial office due to an article by journalist Jelena Jovanović, for which she was threatened with having her head blown off.
"An urgent investigation is necessary because Jovanović has been living with police security for several years, and dissatisfaction with the reporting cannot be a reason for threats, especially if the person making the threats is allegedly a lawyer, who should know that she is endangering someone's safety," the DPNCG statement, signed by Vice President Danilo Ajković, states.
"Vijesti" journalist Jelena Jovanović reported to the police a death threat she received yesterday from a woman who introduced herself as Milica Ćuk.
