CCE: Attacks and threats against journalists require an urgent and decisive response from institutions

The Center for Civic Education (CCE) strongly condemns the death threats made against "Vijesti" journalist Jelena Jovanović, sent by a person who introduced herself as Milica Ćuk - the sister of Milovan Ćuk, who was arrested and deported from Montenegro to Serbia.

"Attacks and threats against journalists, especially threats to life, require an urgent and decisive response from institutions. Therefore, we call on the competent authorities to immediately and without delay take all necessary measures so that the perpetrator is identified, prosecuted and adequately sanctioned," CCE announced.

Jovanović reported to the police a death threat she received yesterday from a woman who identified herself as Milica Ćuk. The woman, who identified herself as Milica Ćuk, the sister of Serbian citizen Milovan Ćuk who was expelled yesterday, called the “Vijesti” editorial office at around 18.20:XNUMX p.m., saying that “if anyone’s head flies off, it will be the head of the author of the article.”
