The Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT) in Nikšić has formed a case to determine whether there are elements for the official prosecution of Police Directorate officers who were involved in a verbal and almost physical incident last Thursday during last week's security operation on the Grahovo road.
Prosecutor of the Nikšić Public Prosecutor's Office Vjera Mićunović She responded to "Vijesti" that a case has been opened regarding this event.
"A case has been formed and the necessary information is being collected, after which a decision will be made," Mićunović's response reads.
By order of the Acting Director of the Police Directorate Lazar Šćepanović Internal control within the Ministry of Internal Affairs system has also been opened.
The Internal Control Department of the Police Directorate and the Ethics Board will determine whether there are elements to initiate appropriate proceedings due to improper or unauthorized behavior of two police officers from Podgorica and Nikšić during a verbal incident that occurred on Thursday, April 10 of this year, on the main road to Grahovo.
Due to several closing conventions that day, the police sent members of the Intervention Platoon from Podgorica to Nikšić for assistance, but during the securing of the route along which the escort accompanying the President of the Parliament passed, Andrije Mandić, an unusual conflict occurred between UP officers from two regional centers.
Allegedly, the Intervention Platoon from Podgorica tried to stop the escort that night, which was being followed by colleagues from Nikšić, but they did not stop them.
After that, upon the return of their colleagues from Nikšić, who had escorted Mandić's entourage to Herceg Novi, the platoon from Podgorica again tried to stop them on the main road, but they again did not stop but continued towards the city under rotation.
Several people interviewed by "Vijesti" claim that after that, police officers from Podgorica chased their colleagues from Nikšić, and then blocked their path with an official vehicle, after which a verbal conflict and almost a physical confrontation occurred.
Sources claim that a police officer from the Podgorica Police Department was particularly aggressive. Marko Stojanovic who allegedly tried to hit his colleague from Nikšić after a verbal conflict on the route Radovan Lalić.
The verbal conflict then continued in front of the Nikšić Police Station building, where police officers from the two cities argued again, and inappropriate scenes, according to several interlocutors, were also seen in the office of the head of the RCB "Zapad".

The Police Directorate claims that there has been no further incident in the Nikšić police building, and that after giving a verbal statement in the chief's office, all officers were returned to their regular work assignments in their regional centers.
During the internal control, it will be particularly interesting to check whether the superiors made an oversight by not immediately removing the police officers from duty after learning about the conflict between officers from the two cities, but instead letting them return to Podgorica in the official van after the incident and continue their duties.
