By a first-instance verdict of the Higher Court in Podgorica, the defendant RV from Kosovo was sentenced to a single sentence of nine years and two months in prison for raping his unmarried wife and her sixteen-year-old daughter from a previous marriage, who became pregnant, and for domestic violence.
Judge Igor Đuričković pronounced the verdict.
The injured mother claimed in court that she learned about the hell her daughter was going through from her previous marriage after some time. She reported the case to the police in August 2022.
The defendant, in his defense, said before the court that he saw nothing objectionable because, as he said, it is customary among his people for men to live with multiple wives.
The court found that the defendant repeatedly forced a sixteen-year-old girl to have sex. From June 2021 to the end of August 2022, he also repeatedly raped the girl's mother, his common-law wife, while making threats.
According to the verdict, RV repeatedly threatened the girl and her mother that he would kill them if the sixteen-year-old refused to have sexual relations with him.
Also, the girl's mother was forced to sexually satisfy the defendant RV.
RV stated before the state prosecutor that he had already been convicted in Germany and had served five years for the crime of domestic violence.
