Beranac N. Ć. was remanded in custody on suspicion that he attacked and beat his ex-partner in a public place in Berane last weekend.
The Police Directorate responded to the news by saying that on April 11th, an incident was reported to them in which the suspect N. Ć.
"The police immediately acted upon it, found the person and carried out police measures and actions against him that indicated suspicion that he had committed a criminal offense in the field of domestic violence, after which he was deprived of his liberty," the responses state.
The security institution explains that that night, at 22.10:36 p.m., "an adult female, XNUMX years old, entered the official premises of the Berane Security Department."
"Who filed a complaint against her former emotional partner N. Ć., stating that he had previously attacked her in a public place in Berane, and that he had punched her several times. This female person was provided with medical assistance at the Emergency Center in Berane, where the doctor stated in the report that she had sustained minor physical injuries in the incident," the UP explained.
They claim that they invited Beran to enter the police premises, which he did:
"Where was he given information on the above circumstances and where was he also breathalyzed, during which the presence of alcohol in his body was determined. The results for psychoactive substances, to which he was subsequently subjected through urine sampling at the Clinical Center in Berane, were negative. The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office was informed about everything, and she stated that N. Ć.'s actions constitute essential elements of the criminal offense of domestic violence or family violence. Police officers then deprived N. Ć. of his liberty and detained him in police premises until the prosecutor's arrival," the police wrote in their responses.
According to their allegations, three days later, the investigating judge of the Basic Court in Berane ordered Beranac into custody:
"He was also taken to the Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions."
