MP (68) from Nikšić is suspected of setting fire to a vehicle owned by his wife after a verbal argument, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.
The statement states that Nikšić police officers acted upon a report about the intervention of members of the Nikšić Protection and Rescue Service in extinguishing a fire that had engulfed a vehicle near the Vrtačka Dam.
"Upon arriving at the scene, police officers found a VW Polo passenger vehicle with Nikšić license plates, the front of which had been damaged due to the fire. The owner of the vehicle was not found at the time," the statement said.
The UP said that the police officers suspected that the fire in the vehicle owned by his wife was set by MP after a verbal argument.
"During the criminal investigation, the injured party requested that the police officers warn the police about the behavior, while she did not request that official measures and actions be taken regarding the circumstances of the fire. The prosecutor on duty at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić was informed of the incident, who stated that it was a criminal offense of destruction and damage to another person's property, for which prosecution is being undertaken under a private lawsuit," the statement reads.
