Podgorica resident Danilo Mandić (35), suspected of attempting to murder Darko Perović and Aris Turković, blocked their path with an official car of the Parliament of Montenegro before injuring the two fellow citizens, Vijesti was confirmed by several sources.
According to "Vijesti", the vehicle in question is a Range Rover, registered to the Parliament of Montenegro.
Mandić is the nephew and bodyguard of the Speaker of the Parliament, Andrija Mandić.
After a hearing at the Podgorica Higher State Prosecutor's Office, he was ordered to be detained for up to 72 hours.
He surrendered to the Podgorica police last night, accompanied by a lawyer, Vijesti reported earlier today.
The Police Directorate officially confirmed this information, explaining that the thirty-five-year-old man is suspected of attempted aggravated murder against two people and the illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives.
The security institution announced that the incident occurred on the night between Friday and Saturday, around 3.40:XNUMX a.m. on Ivana Crnojevića Boulevard in Podgorica.
"As suspected, on April 19, during the aforementioned time period, at the intersection of Marka Miljanova Street and Bulevar Ivana Crnojevića Street, after the injured parties had left a catering facility, DM blocked their path with his vehicle. After the injured parties had left their vehicle, DM fired several shots at them, causing injuries to the legs, after which he left the scene. By undertaking criminal and police-prosecutorial measures and actions, DM was identified in a short time, who voluntarily entered the premises of the Podgorica Security Department, after which he was deprived of liberty on suspicion of having committed the aforementioned criminal offenses," the police announced.
