Two people suspected of burglarizing houses and vehicles in Danilovgrad and Podgorica arrested

The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica has ordered the detention of Podgorica residents Jagoš Lekić (72) and Vasko Martinović (25), suspected of multiple thefts in the territories of the Danilovgrad and Podgorica municipalities, for up to 41 hours.

The police suspect them of five aggravated thefts and two attempted thefts, at the expense of seven people.

The Police Directorate announced that their officers controlled a "VW Passat" vehicle with Ulcinj license plates, driven by Lekić, with Martinović as the passenger, both returnees in the commission of criminal offenses in the field of property crimes and drug abuse.

A local search was launched for Lekić, on suspicion of committing the crime of aggravated theft, after which he and Martinović were brought to the premises of the Danilovgrad Security Department to gather information.

"The criminal investigation led to the suspicion that on April 18, in a "Reno Clio" vehicle with Budva license plates, in the Bandići settlement, Danilovgrad municipality, JL and VM used a suitable tool to break down the door of the injured party's house, entered the house and ransacked it, after which they fled in the vehicle in the direction of the Podgorica - Danilovgrad boulevard. Upon arriving in the town of Donji Zagarač, they are suspected of breaking into the house of another injured party, ransacked it and fled, after which they left the vehicle on a part of the road and continued moving in an unknown direction," the police announced.

By order of the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, they were arrested on suspicion of committing two criminal offenses of attempted aggravated theft.

The Podgorica police filed a criminal complaint against Lekić and Martinović with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica on suspicion of committing five criminal offenses of aggravated theft against five people.

"On that occasion, as is suspected, they broke into houses in Piperi and Smokovac and stole a large quantity of tools, a chainsaw, trimmers, a welding machine and a car wash machine to the detriment of three people. Also, by breaking into two vehicles in Podgorica, they stole wallets with money and documents from two injured persons," it was announced.
