The civic movement URA expressed concern about last night's murder in Cetinje, in which one person lost their life, a few days after an attempted double murder in the center of Podgorica, events that, they point out, are accompanied by numerous omissions and ambiguities.
The URA announced that these tragic incidents confirm what they warn about - "no one is safe in Montenegro anymore, and the institutions of the system are obviously unable to guarantee basic security for citizens."
"In the last 15 months, we have witnessed a serious collapse of the security system, while the number of brutal executions, especially in the Royal Capital of Cetinje, is increasing alarmingly and rightly causing concern. Citizens live in daily fear, with no indication that the state will take concrete measures to protect them. The collapse of the system is also confirmed by the striking fact that in the first three months of this year, as many as 133 police officers were attacked, which further testifies to the loss of authority and ability of the security sector to confront organized crime," the URA also states.
They demand an urgent reaction from the competent institutions, clear answers, but also decisive and efficient steps in the fight against organized crime and in strengthening the security apparatus.
"Every life lost is a defeat for the state," the URA concludes.
