The President of the Democratic Party of Serbia, Boris Bogdanović, said that "tragic events occur even in the most powerful security systems, as well as in the most powerful countries in the world."
He said that "cheap political attacks have never prevented a violent crime from happening or returned a lost victim to her family."
"Those who decide to attack our institutions when tragedy strikes are part of the problem, never part of the solution. Because tragic events happen even in the most powerful security systems, as well as the most powerful countries in the world," Bogdanović said.
The civic movement URA earlier today expressed concern over the murder in Cetinje, in which one person lost their life, a few days after an attempted double murder in the center of Podgorica, events that, they point out, are accompanied by numerous omissions and ambiguities.
Ilija Bogdanović, a resident of Cetinje, was killed last night in the Royal Capital, twenty minutes after midnight.
"In the past two months, more police weapons and ammunition have been seized than in the past 10 years. During the mandate of this Government, over 2.000 members of criminal organizations and persons associated with them have been prosecuted. During the mandate of this Government, almost 100 members of the Police Directorate have been suspended, while some previous Governments either kept them or promoted them," said Bogdanović.
He adds that during the mandate of this Government, the fight against economic crime is "12 times stronger than during the mandate of the previous Government."
"During the mandate of this Government, dozens of criminal cells and smuggling routes through which narcotics and illegal cigarettes were distributed were dismantled. During the mandate of this Government, those who subordinated the security sector to organized crime were arrested, and they held the most important systemic functions until the election of this Government. That is why we hear from European partners, and from the most important addresses, such as what Commissioner Kos said, that the security sector contributes to making the EU safer through achieving success in the fight against crime, corruption, border management and corruption," said Bogdanović.
He added that "those who protected dirty police officers in the security services obviously know why they did it."
