"These are claims from people we can't possibly hear or see... You can't detain someone based on their word. There has to be some trace... Danilo Mandić was detained based on his word, and his word to the police...", he said on April 21, the day before prosecutor Jelena Protić ordered the forced bringing of the witness - the injured party Perović.
The wounded man, however, was adamant during the interrogation that Mandić did not shoot at him, claiming that he had suffered threats and blackmail from the police to accuse the Podgorica resident of wounding him.
The police therefore announced that they would file criminal charges against Perović for false reporting.
At the same time, Perović said that he would not join the criminal prosecution against Mandić, "because there is no reason to," but he would join the prosecution against the person who shot him, if his identity is revealed.
"When I left the '697' cafe, the traffic light was red. I noticed a white car, I don't remember the make, maybe a Renault Clio or a Peugeot 205, from which three guys got out, and this vehicle flashed at me before. Two of the guys were about 1,70 m tall, and the third was shorter than them. I opened the door, got out of the vehicle and started running, because I saw a gun in the hands of this shorter guy. At that moment, I was on the sidewalk when that guy fired one bullet and hit me in the left lower leg, and then all three got into the vehicle and left the scene," he told the prosecutor.
Turković told the prosecutor that he did not remember any details about when he was wounded, stating that he only saw the injury when he woke up at home, but that he did not know how it occurred.
"I have a great relationship with Perović Darko and Mandić Danilo. We drank a lot of alcohol and at one point I felt sick. I know someone took the car key and I left the bar, and from that moment on I don't remember anything. The next thing I remember is waking up at home and feeling pain in my leg."
