Two cars were burned in an explosion in Podgorica and the damage is extensive, the commander of the Protection and Rescue Service, Zdravko Blečić, told "Vijesti".
He said that the service managed to prevent a third vehicle from catching fire.
He stressed that there were no injuries.
The police department said it is suspected that one of the cars caught fire on its own, and that the fire spread to the other two vehicles.
They said that citizens reported to the police that a car on Vasa Raičkovića Street had caught fire.
"On this occasion, major material damage was caused to a Chevrolet vehicle with Podgorica license plates, while damage occurred, causing major material damage, to a Renault Megan vehicle with Podgorica license plates. Also, another Citroen vehicle with Nikšić license plates was affected, causing minor material damage. As is suspected at this time, the Chevrolet vehicle spontaneously combusted, during which the fire spread to the other two vehicles. The fire has been localized, while an on-site investigation is being conducted at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, on the orders of the prosecutor, and further measures and actions are being taken," the statement reads.
