Montenegrin police conducted searches in the southern and northern parts of the country and seized 12 weapons, the Police Directorate (UP) announced.
As announced, five pistols, seven rifles and ammunition of various types and calibers were found and seized at four locations.
"Officers of the Bar Security Department, in cooperation with officers of the Ulcinj Security Department, conducted searches at two locations in Ulcinj, during which firearms and ammunition were seized. A search of the apartment and auxiliary facilities used by S.Đ. (56) found a pistol without proper documentation, with seven rounds of ammunition and five hunting rifles, two of which without proper documentation. A misdemeanor charge was filed against S.Đ. in accordance with the Law on Weapons, while the weapon was seized in order to initiate appropriate proceedings," the statement reads.
The Petnjica police searched the family home of Š. O. in that town and found and confiscated two pistols, a rifle, a starting pistol, an optical sight and 35 rounds of ammunition.
"The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane has been informed of the event and will subsequently make a statement on the legal qualification of the act after conducting expert examinations," it added.

"During a check on BJ (49) in Berane, officers from the Berane Security Department found a box with 47 rounds of illegal pistol ammunition on him. BJ was taken to the Emergency Center, where testing determined that he tested positive for the narcotic drug cocaine. During a search of the family home and auxiliary facilities used by this person in Berane, a pistol with a milled factory number and six rounds of ammunition in a frame were found and seized, in illegal possession, as well as an air rifle of an unknown brand, also in illegal possession," the statement reads.
"The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane was informed of the event, on whose order the weapons and ammunition were sent for expert examination, after which police officers will file a criminal complaint against BJ on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives. In order to detect, suppress and prevent criminal offenses and misdemeanors with elements of violence, protect life, legal order and the safety of citizens, officers of the Police Administration will continue with coordinated, intensified activities at the state level," the UP said.
