The Berane police prosecuted MD (55) from that city on suspicion of falsely presenting himself as a police inspector and asking a fellow citizen for a thousand euros to solve the damage to a grave.
The police acted upon a report from the injured party in April 2024, that a man unknown to him had contacted him by telephone and, posing as a police inspector, demanded that he pay him the aforementioned money in order to shed light on the damage to his family grave.
"Taking official measures and actions within their jurisdiction, police officers, upon the order of the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane, submitted a special report as a supplement to the criminal report previously filed against an unknown perpetrator, against MD (55) from Berane, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of false representation. It is suspected that MD committed the aforementioned criminal offense by calling a fellow citizen on April 17.4.2024, XNUMX, with the intention of obtaining unlawful material gain in the aforementioned amount, and falsely presenting himself as an official - a police inspector, in order to allegedly take action to clarify the damage to the family grave of the injured party after the injured party paid him the requested money," the Police Directorate announced.
MD was brought to the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane.
