Cardiologist at the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) Vladimir Peruničić was fined a maximum of 1.000 euros with the mandatory security measure of mandatory treatment for alcoholism at liberty and in outpatient settings.
The Gradska TV portal reports that this is the decision of the Minor Offences Court in Podgorica, after the television station's journalist Magdalena Čelanović reported him for insults, threats and harassment.
In court, Peručinić accepted responsibility for the offenses he was charged with, saying that he was intoxicated. He said that he does not control his actions when under the influence of alcohol.
Peruničić was previously convicted, in 2023, with a fine of 300 euros for similar matters, the portal writes.
The verdict was handed down by judge Nedo Jovanović. Prosecutor of the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, Romina Vlahović, proposed to the court during her closing arguments that Peruničić be sentenced to the maximum prison sentence due to the offenses committed, but the court did not accept this.
Peruničić was detained yesterday after journalist Čelanović reported him for insults, threats and harassment.
Two nights ago, she filed a complaint against Peruničić with the Tivat police, alleging that he had sent her offensive and sexist messages via email and text messages.
"Vijesti" reported yesterday that Čelanović gave a statement to the police, in which she said that it all started after her photo was published on the official Instagram profile of the City RTV, showing her and the Deputy Mayor of Podgorica, Nađa Ljiljanić.
Underneath the photo, the doctor wrote a vulgar message that Čelanović deleted, and then contacted the Ministry of Health.
The cabinet of the Minister of Health replied that they and Minister Vojislav Šimun condemn such behavior, and that they would forward the email to the director of the KCCG.
There was no word from that health institution for days, and after Čelanović sent them a letter on April 23, the next day, around 23 p.m., Peruničić began sending her disturbing emails and then messages on Instagram.
The journalist told the police that the doctor told her not to be afraid of her and that he would find her and assault her, and he sent her a series of offensive and sexist messages.
Čelanović told the police that she fears for her safety because of everything. She added that the doctor took a photo inside the Clinical Center and wrote offensive comments about the City RTV along with the photo, calling it a "septic tank of allergens."
Although they received the first letter on April 8, the KCCG only responded to the newspaper two days ago. They stated that they assessed that the doctor had done this outside of working hours and the work environment, as well as outside of the working relationship with the parties, and that the words sent in private correspondence do not constitute a violation of work obligations performed at work or in connection with work.
