Turkish citizen AA (53) was arrested at Podgorica Airport on suspicion of possessing a forged passport.
He was arrested at that border crossing by officers of the Border Police Sector in Podgorica.
"During the control of passengers on a foreign airline flight, upon exiting Montenegro, a person approached the check-in and showed the officers a travel document of Great Britain, with the data in the name AA (53). Due to doubts about the authenticity and correctness of the document, a detailed border control was carried out at the 53nd line of border checks, and a large number of deviations were found on the personalization page of the document, in relation to the original appearance of the document. It was determined that the person in question was AA (800), a Turkish citizen, and after collecting information, police officers came to suspect that the same person had purchased a travel document - a passport of Great Britain, in Turkey, from a person for the amount of XNUMX pounds," the Police Directorate announced.
AA was arrested by order of the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica and criminal charges were filed against him on suspicion of committing a criminal offense - forgery of a document.
"Officers of the Border Police Sector continue with priority activities aimed at preventing illegal border crossings, securing the state border, detecting and suppressing criminal acts and violations, as well as ensuring the safe conduct of traffic at border crossings," the statement reads.
