Zekić is standing trial in the Podgorica Higher Court on charges that he is the head of a criminal group responsible for the double murder in Veruša, which, according to special prosecutors, he committed in revenge for the beating he received in Podgorica's City Quarter.
In a conversation with Pljevljak, Lazović emphasized that the problem will be Vladimir Bajčeta and he taught that interlocutor not to try to smooth over the situation if "Bajčo" calls him...
"How the f*ck is this Bajčo going to attack my good friend, 4 of them, him and Marinko Banović". A terrible guy and a brave, outlaw like you. They ran into a wall there, brother. Brother, the guy is brave, he was with a girl. Vuk called me that he was going to kill them," the then informal leader of the police Special Operational Support Team wrote to Pljevlja that night.
On August 6, 2020, "Vijesti" asked the Police Directorate whether they had information that Marko Zekić had been severely beaten the day before in Podgorica, what exactly happened, and whether the Beranac man had been questioned in order to possibly provide information of interest to the investigation.
These questions were never answered, nor were the perpetrators prosecuted, even though the then police officer Lazović, as evidenced by correspondence with several accused criminals, had all the information on the same day and knew that revenge was being prepared.
Two months and ten days after he was beaten, Zekić, according to the Special State Prosecutor's Office, killed a man from Podgorica out of revenge. Nemanja Prelević (28) and his friend Danilo Peković (19)
It was revealed that Prelević, Peković, Vladimir Bajčeta and Marinko Banović were the perpetrators of the attack on Beranec after an indictment was filed against his group.
After informing his interlocutor that Vuk had called him, Lazović explained that it was Beranac. Vuk Vulević, and that Marko Zekić from Berane was beaten.
“A friend of all of us, a hajduk... He is inseparable from Vuk V.... A boy,” he writes.
He also tells him that Zekić was with a girl, and that he would have "left the attackers there" if he had "had a fight"...
"If he had a place to stay, he would have left them there," he writes, adding that Zekić is "so honorable" that he didn't say anything to anyone, but went to Berane "for tools" and headed back.
"He didn't tell anyone how honest he was, he went to BA to get tools and headed back, someone accidentally called me, I called Vuk and Vuk called him and stopped him. Vuk called me too, he'll fuck you up. Don't let Bajčo call you to iron and that," he instructs his interlocutor.
After Pljevljak tells him not to worry, Lazović writes to him:

Petar Lazović was arrested on July 18, 2022, when he was handcuffed on the orders of the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT), on charges that he subordinated the police service to the interests of the Kavač clan.
Since then, the police have been searching for his colleague from the service and the clan, Ljubo Milović, which is included in several indictments of the Special State Prosecutor's Office.
These accusations followed after the SDT, on the orders of the then-appointed Chief Special Prosecutor Vladimir Novović, in May 2022, he re-formed a criminal case, based on data that Europol had sent to the previous leadership of that prosecutor's office in June 2021.
Previously, the then special prosecutor Sasa Cadjenovic in January 2022, decided that there were no elements to initiate criminal proceedings against anyone. At that time, the Chief Special Prosecutor was Milivoje Katnic.
Čađenović was arrested on December 9, 2022, on suspicion of becoming a member of a criminal organization, and Katnić and Petar Lazović's father, a former police official, were arrested on December XNUMX, XNUMX. Zoran Lazovic April 14, 2024. They are also accused of protecting the people of Kavče.

According to the indictment, Zekić formed a criminal group in 2020, whose members became Miomir Ž. Djukic, Dragan Z. Biletić, Vasilije M. Đukić, Mirceta M. Mihajlović, Nenad M. Miličić, Branislav S. Ivanovic, Goran M. Milašinović i Dragan Tarić.

After that, prosecutors claim, he made the decision to kill him, and informed the other members of the criminal organization he founded about it.
"From further communications from August 05.08.2020, XNUMX, Zekić announces that he made the decision to take the life of Nemanja Prelevic precisely because of the fight he had with him and with Vladimir Bajčeta and Marinka Banović in the restaurant. In those messages, Zekić states that he is with had a gun that he had left and at the same time inquires with other defendants where Prelevic lives, what vehicle he drives, and where his house is located, i.e. what is the street where the victim's house is located," the indictment explains.

"Politically ordered persecution"
Lazović recently denied in the Higher Court in Podgorica that he was a member of Radoje Zvicer's criminal organization, emphasizing that the charges against him were actually constructed to politically discredit his family.
"This action is a politically motivated persecution. That is why my family was sacrificed."
Lazović said that he dedicated his life to his profession, all for the security of Montenegro.
"I do not admit to committing any of the crimes that the prosecutor has alleged in the fabricated indictment. This proceeding is just a cover for ordered political discrediting. My family was chosen to be the scapegoat. My arguments and facts were not taken into account by either the court or the prosecution," Lazović said at the time.
