Mihailo Čolović (48) from Aranđelov and Dragan Ilić (45) from Kragujevac, suspects in the murder of Ilija Bogdanović, were taken to the pre-trial detention center after being questioned by the investigating judge of the Higher Court in Podgorica.
The court's public relations advisor, Ivana Vukmirović, told "Vijesti" that they were remanded in custody on all grounds - the risk of flight, the risk of influencing witnesses and accomplices, the risk of repeating the criminal offense, and due to the particularly serious manner in which the crime was committed.
She explained that custody has also been ordered for the third suspect, Belgrade resident Edi Balša Piralić (36), who is being sought.
"Vijesti" announced yesterday that these mercenaries from the Skaljar clan followed seaman Ilija Bogdanović (39) for days, before on April 24th, in Cetinje, they fired fatal shots at him and took his life.
According to "Vijesti", they entered Montenegro two days after the thirty-nine-year-old landed in his homeland, having spent some time working on an ocean-going ship.
The Police Department officially announced that Bogdanović was not an accidental victim, but the target of an organized criminal group.
"Based on the operational, intelligence and police-prosecutorial activities undertaken, as well as taking into account the manner, time and place of the commission of the criminal offense and the circumstances under which it was committed, the active role of the perpetrators in planning, organizing and implementing the criminal plan and selecting the victim, as well as other facts, it is unequivocally concluded that this criminal offense was committed with the stated person in mind," the UP said.
In the statement, they recalled that they had previously informed the public that Bogdanović had "close contacts with operationally interesting persons and members of organized crime groups."
"Based on all of the above, the Police Directorate denies the claims and disinformation spread by certain media outlets that IB is an accidental victim, by which individuals are trying to act in a calculated and deliberate manner, without any substantiation or confirmation, and thereby attempting to diminish the successful activities carried out by the Police Directorate in relation to complex security challenges."
A few hours after Bogdanović's murder, the police located and arrested Mihailo Čolović (48) from Aranđelovac and Dragan Ilić (45) from Kragujevac in a block of flats in the Luka Ivanišević neighborhood in Cetinje.
Three weapons with ammunition, communication and surveillance items, hydrochloric acid for destroying traces were found in that apartment...
The weapon believed to have been used in Bogdanović's murder was found by police in a cemetery near the crime scene, under a tombstone.
Due to suspicions that he provided logistical support and assistance to the executioners, the police yesterday filed a criminal complaint against Belgrade resident Edi Balša Piralić (36), who they are searching for.
This was announced yesterday by the Police Directorate, stating that officers from the Regional Security Center "Centar", in cooperation with officers from the Crime Prevention Sector, and in coordination with the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, identified Piralić:
"For whom there is reasonable suspicion that he provided logistical support and assistance to the perpetrators, and that he created conditions for them to carry out and implement the criminal plan."
"On the order of the acting prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, officers of the Cetinje Security Department filed a criminal complaint against PEB today due to the existence of a reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of aggravated murder by aiding and abetting to the detriment of IB. Police officers have provided evidence that unequivocally indicates that PEB committed the crime, for which it was determined that, falsely presenting himself under a different name and surname, he carried out criminal activities on the territory of Podgorica and Cetinje," the security institution announced yesterday.
They announced that, in addition to the national warrant, an international warrant would be issued for the suspect.
"Based on the exchange of data with partner services, it was determined that the suspect PEB is registered in his home country as a perpetrator of criminal offenses in the field of drug abuse, property crime with the highest degree of social danger, and criminal offenses with elements of violence and document forgery," the UP announced.
