The Police Directorate announced that during the May Day holidays, there may be occasional delays, including difficulties in traffic to tourist centers, both in the south and north of Montenegro.
They appeal to citizens to refrain from excessive alcohol consumption during holidays and celebrations, as well as any other behavior that could endanger their own safety, the safety of their families, friends or other road users.
"Due to the increased frequency of traffic to tourist centers, both in the south and north of Montenegro and increased congestion, it is realistic to expect that there may be occasional delays and even difficult traffic flow. Driver fatigue, carelessness and failure to comply with traffic regulations can also be the cause of traffic accidents, so we especially appeal to all traffic participants to plan their trips and adjust their driving to the conditions and state of the roads, and to contribute to their own safety and the safety of other traffic participants through conscientious and responsible behavior," the Police Directorate announced.
They add that through preventive and repressive measures and actions within their jurisdiction and through the increased presence of their officers to the extent possible, before, during and after the holidays, they will strive to ensure stable public order and peace, unhindered and safe road traffic, prevention of criminal offenses, as well as the personal and property security of all citizens and tourists in Montenegro.
