Nikšić police arrested Milan Daković (44) from that city on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of endangering security to the detriment of former Prime Minister Dritan Abazović.
Abazović is the president of the Civic Movement URA.
The statement from the Police Directorate states that after officers from the Sector for the Protection of Persons and Facilities, who are responsible for protecting Abazović as a protected person, recorded on April 29 that he had been sent a message via the social network Instagram: "You will pay for the stink of the traitor of Montenegro. Now you are defending the sand from which you profit, it will not be yours or anyone else's, remember the traitors of the Montenegrin Orthodox People," they informed the Nikšić Security Department about the content.
"Abazović told officers of the Security Sector for Persons and Facilities that he felt threatened," the police said.
The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić was informed about the incident, who declared that it was a criminal offense of endangering security.
"Police officers took measures and actions to identify the sender and established the identity of the account owner from which the threatening message was sent, after which this person was found. MD was deprived of liberty by order of the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić on suspicion of having committed the above-mentioned criminal offense. The suspect was brought before the acting prosecutor for further jurisdiction," the statement reads.
