Police officers in Bar, in 24 hours, sanctioned 23 people for driving under the influence of drugs, alcohol and possession of narcotics, the Police Directorate announced.
It is stated that most of the sanctions were for driving under the influence of drugs.
Bar police officers arrested Turkish citizens HA (47) and VC (28) from Podgorica for driving under the influence of cocaine and marijuana.
It is added that MM (43) from Bar, RP (22) from Podgorica, DK (34) from Podgorica and SD (19) from Bar were also arrested, who were driving under the influence of marijuana.
The police stated that VR (34) was found in the vehicle with DK, and upon inspection, a PVC package containing green plant matter resembling marijuana was found.
"While in the vehicle with SD was JA (24), upon inspection a package with green plant matter, resembling marijuana, was found," the police statement added.
They said that officers from the Bar Security Department will file a request to initiate misdemeanor proceedings against VR and JA for committing violations under the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse.
The statement states that Russian citizen AT, Turkish citizen TBM, Serbian citizen KS (29) and Podgorica resident NT were checked in the towns of Ratac, Zaljevo and Sutomore, and that they were found to be driving under the influence of marijuana, after which they were arrested.
It is added that VV (46) from Podgorica was arrested for driving under the influence of cocaine and benzodiazepines.
"Drivers IM from Podgorica, FJ (21) from Podgorica and MV from Bar, refused to undergo testing for the presence of psychoactive substances in their bodies, after which they were arrested," the police said.
They said that a test conducted on Podgorica resident MD revealed that he was driving under the influence of cocaine, while a yellow box containing green plant matter resembling marijuana was found during a search of Russian citizen AT.
As the police said, a search of MS from Nikšić found a piece of crushed wood containing green plant matter resembling marijuana.
"While AB (23) from Podgorica, during the control, discarded a PVC bag containing green plant matter resembling marijuana, weighing about nine grams," the police said.
They added that a request will be filed against MS and AB with the Misdemeanor Court to initiate misdemeanor proceedings for the violations committed under Article 52 of the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse.
It is reported that Albanian citizen ZB (38) was also arrested for driving under the influence of 1,54 per mille of alcohol in his blood.
The police stated that a regional operation "Motorcycle" was also carried out, during which 119 motorcyclists were checked, 66 misdemeanor warrants were issued, four misdemeanor reports were filed, and nine motorcycles were removed from traffic.
