Samir Hajdarpašić (22) was seriously injured in an accident shortly before 17 pm on Bojana, in Ulcinj, "Vijesti" has learned.
According to unofficial information, the young man was riding a scooter and, for reasons currently unknown, lost control of the vehicle and crashed directly into the terrace of a building.
The Maritime Safety and Port Management Authority announced that the scooter driver was sent to the Clinical Center of Montenegro.
"The Maritime Operations Center of the Maritime Safety and Port Management Administration received a call today that a maritime accident had occurred on Ada Bojana, after which it urgently dispatched a SAR vessel with a crew to the scene. The accident occurred when the driver of a scooter lost control of the vessel and hit one of the objects on the right side at the mouth of the Bojana River. He was sent to the KCCG. We would like to point out that the accident occurred after the completion of a joint control of maritime activities at the mouth of the Bojana River by officers of the Maritime Safety and Port Management Administration, the Navigation Safety Inspection and the Border Police. Even increased controls and appeals cannot prevent accidents and change the behavior of participants in maritime traffic that lead to tragic consequences for health and life. We appeal to all participants in maritime traffic to respect the rules of navigation safety and not to endanger their own lives or the lives of other citizens through their irresponsibility," the statement reads.
The Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT) previously confirmed to "Vijesti" that a young man was injured in an accident this afternoon.
"Around 17,00:XNUMX p.m., the prosecutor on duty was notified that an accident had occurred on the Bojana River in which SH, while operating a vessel, was involved, and he sustained bodily injuries. An on-site investigation is underway, conducted by a traffic and maritime expert and police officers in cooperation with the prosecutor. Traces of the accident and other evidence that will be the subject of an expert examination are being recorded," the ODT's response reads.
