The Kolašin police arrested SD (37) from that city on suspicion of committing a criminal offense - assault on an official in the performance of official duty - to the detriment of two police officers.
The Police Directorate announced that SD is listed as a person of operational interest in their records.
"On May 3.5.2025, 18.20, at around XNUMX:XNUMX p.m., the traffic patrol stopped a passenger motor vehicle 'Nissan Pathfinder', without license plates, on Milivoja Bulatovića Street in Kolašin, for inspection. SD, with insults and threats, refused to provide police officers with his personal and traffic documents, as well as to undergo a test for psychoactive substances. Police officers then took him to the Emergency Medical Service in Kolašin, for a blood test for the presence of alcohol and psychoactive substances, where SD continued to belittle police officers, threatening them with an attack, and at one point he tried to pull the service pistol from the holster of one of the police officers, which he was prevented from doing by police officers who subdued him using means of coercion - physical force and means of tying him up," the statement reads.
"In addition to the above, which is why he was deprived of his liberty, it was determined that SD was driving the vehicle after his driving license expired, and that he did not have the documentation for the vehicle in question, so it was temporarily seized for additional checks," they added.
The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kolašin was informed about the incident, who qualified it as a criminal offense. The suspect SD was brought to the prosecutor in charge within the legal deadline, along with a criminal report, on suspicion of having committed the aforementioned criminal offense.
"The Police Directorate condemns attacks on police officers and any type of illegal behavior towards police employees and states that police officers, without exception, will continue to consistently and objectively apply the law, with the firm support of management to all its officers, for whom fair and lawful treatment is a top priority," the statement reads.
