Police officers prevented a liquidation in Budva, Vijesti has learned unofficially.

According to the same information, three people were arrested in that police operation.

The same source claims that officers from the Regional Center South, in cooperation with officers from the Sector for Combating Organized Crime, thwarted the criminal intentions of a group in the territory of Budva.

The Police Directorate announced that Nemanja Pantelić and Novak Pećanac from Serbia and Ilija Pavlović from Budva, who is allegedly a member of an organized criminal group, were arrested.

The police announced that they had seized a motorcycle that was allegedly intended to be used in criminal activities.

"Police officers, while carrying out measures and actions on the ground, in the Markovići settlement, in the area behind an unoccupied residential building, found a hidden 'Kymco Downtown 300 I' motorcycle at the beginning of the forest, without license plates and with the key left in the lock. Upon checking the engine chassis number, it was determined that the motorcycle was not registered in Montenegro. After finding the motorcycle, which was suspected of being prepared for the commission of a serious crime, officers of the Budva Police Department and the Crime Suppression Department began criminal processing, as well as taking further police measures and actions, which soon resulted in the discovery of NP (19) from Belgrade, also in the Markovići settlement. Police officers determined that NP had illegally entered Montenegro, and the subsequent check through the NCB Interpol Podgorica determined that NP was registered in police records in the Republic of Serbia as a multiple perpetrator of criminal offenses, namely the criminal offense of unauthorized production and distribution of narcotic drugs and the criminal offense of endangering security," the police announced.

They add that the police measures and actions taken so far point to the suspicion that NP, with a currently unknown person, drove and hid the motorcycle on a forest road sheltered by an unoccupied residential building, and that he removed the license plates from the motorcycle and intentionally left the key in the lock, all so that the motorcycle would be ready for quick and imperceptible starting.

"NP was deprived of his liberty for illegally crossing the state border and staying in Montenegro and was brought to the competent Court. After the procedures were carried out, he will be deported from Montenegro, and the police will continue with activities to establish all the facts related to his stay and intention to commit a criminal offense. Police officers, in continuation of the activities related to the found motorcycle and person, took further measures and actions, in which, also in the Markovići settlement, they found another person who did not have documents, and who introduced himself to the police officers, but it was determined that he had given false information about himself. The person was brought to the Budva Police Station, where criminal processing determined that he was NP (28) from Šabac. Further processing, through Interpol, also determined that he is a multiple repeat offender in committing criminal offenses on the territory of the Republic of Serbia, namely: aggravated murder, unauthorized production and distribution of narcotic drugs and unauthorized production, possession, carrying and trafficking of weapons and explosives, and that he is wanted "active search at the national level in the home country for two criminal offenses, namely the criminal offense of unauthorized production and distribution of narcotic drugs and the criminal offense of obstructing an official in the performance of official duties," the statement reads.

NP, like the first identified, entered Montenegro illegally. The police suspect that NP, from the moment of his illegal entry into Montenegro, had already established contacts with members of the OKG in the territory of the Municipality of Budva.

"Police activities led to suspicion that this person was using apartments and premises at three locations in the Budva area, and, after obtaining a search warrant initiated by the competent court, searches were carried out at those locations, in which a certain amount of narcotics was found. NP was also deprived of his liberty for illegally crossing the state border, as well as for possession of drugs, and he will be brought to the competent Minor Offences Court in Budva within the legal deadline. When the search operation was initiated, IP (35) from Budva, a member of the OKG, was also deprived of his liberty, who approached the police officers with the intention of making contact with NP (28), and who obstructed the police officers in carrying out their official duties. IP was brought to the competent Minor Offences Court today. Therefore, the police officers, through efficient activities that they carried out in a coordinated and planned manner, thwarted NP and NP with the intention of carrying out criminal activities related to serious and organised crime," the police announced.

The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor was informed about everything.

Rolović: These are multiple returnees who have committed criminal offenses on the territory of Serbia

The Police Directorate also submitted a statement from Petar Rolović, head of the Regional Security Center "South", regarding this case.

We quote his statement in full:

"Officers of the Regional Security Center 'South' - Budva Security Department, together with officers of the Crime Prevention Sector, deprived of their liberty two foreign citizens and one member of an organized criminal group from Montenegro, who are suspected of planning to commit a serious crime.

The police, conducting intensified activities aimed at the activities of organized crime groups and persons of operational interest, found a motorcycle that is suspected of being used in the commission of a serious crime.

We quickly identified the person – NP (19) from Belgrade, who prepared and hid the aforementioned motorcycle, without license plates and with the key in the lock, in an uninhabited location.

NP (28) from Šabac, who was also illegally residing in our territory, was soon found, and whose connection to this first person is being established.

Therefore, through efficient activities that they carried out in a coordinated and planned manner, police officers thwarted these two individuals' intention to carry out criminal activities related to serious and organized crime.

It is important to emphasize that these are multiple returnees who have committed criminal offenses on the territory of Serbia.

Through a series of activities, it was determined that the suspect NP used apartments in three different locations in Budva, where, upon receiving orders from the competent court, a search was conducted when a certain amount of narcotics was found.

IP (35) from Budva, a member of an organized criminal group, was also deprived of his liberty for obstructing police officers in carrying out their official duties. When the search was about to begin, he approached and obstructed police officers, intending to make contact with NP (28).

Also, further checks determined that there is an active international arrest warrant for NP (28), issued by the Interpol NCB Belgrade, for the purpose of serving a prison sentence imposed for criminal offenses related to drug abuse.

We are continuing police, prosecutorial and investigative activities, with the aim of determining all circumstances surrounding the stay and activities of the aforementioned persons on our territory, as well as activities related to the detection, prevention and suppression of the most serious criminal offenses and the activities of criminal groups.

"These activities represent another example of the Police Directorate's decisive and coordinated response to the challenges posed by organized crime," said Rolović.
