Yesterday, police found and seized five weapons and 255 rounds of ammunition from two people in Petnjica.

Acting on a previously obtained warrant, the issuance of which they initiated with the competent court, they searched the apartment and other premises used by SA (40) and Dž.A. (45), the Police Directorate announced.

During the search, an automatic rifle with two ammunition magazines was found and seized from SA, as well as: 79 rounds of 7,62 x 39 millimeter ammunition, two rounds of rifle ammunition of unknown caliber, 92 rounds of nine millimeter ammunition, an “HS” 9 pistol and a firearms license for the same.

During the search, a hunting rifle with a valid firearms license was found and seized from Dž.A., along with: 44 rounds of 12-millimeter ammunition, an “M 57” pistol with a firearms license in the name of another person, six rounds of 7.62-millimeter ammunition, 32 rounds of 7.65-millimeter ammunition, and a “Blow” gas pistol and 25 rounds of ammunition for it.

The State Prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane stated that, after the necessary expert examinations, criminal charges should be filed against SA and Dž.A., on suspicion that they committed a criminal offense - illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives.

"Police officers will continue to carry out activities aimed at finding and seizing weapons, ammunition and explosives that citizens hold in illegal possession, all with the aim of suppressing criminal acts and misdemeanors and reducing the volume of crime," the statement reads.
