They state that 51 traffic accidents were registered in which one person died, in the territory of Podgorica, while four people suffered serious and 12 minor injuries.
The traffic police have issued a 1.360 misdemeanor warrants for road users, filed 176 misdemeanor charges and temporarily confiscated 14 pairs of license plates.
"Of the total number of persons deprived of their liberty, 27 the driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, 21 the driver for driving under the influence of intoxicating drugs and 21 driver for committing other serious violations in the field of the Law on Road Traffic Safety. Of this number, the most persons were deprived of their liberty in Podgorica – 36, then in Pljevlja eight, in Budva five and in Plav four," the police announced.
They reminded that from May 9 to September 15, the Order on the Temporary Ban on the Traffic of Freight Motor Vehicles, Buses and Special Passenger Vehicles for Residential Use (so-called Campers) on Certain Road Sections in Montenegro is in force, and they appeal to drivers who drive these categories of vehicles to familiarize themselves with the text of the Order and respect the restrictions contained therein.
