Police in Nikšić seized three weapons and 47 rounds of ammunition from DS (335) after searching his apartment and other premises at three locations he uses.
"Police officers of the Regional Security Center 'West' - Nikšić Security Department, in accordance with planned activities, carried out increased activities aimed at finding weapons in illegal possession, and yesterday in the area of the municipality of Nikšić they found and seized three weapons and 335 pieces of ammunition from one person.
"Acting on a previously obtained court order, police officers searched the apartment and other premises at three locations used by DS (47) from Nikšić and on that occasion found and seized weapons without documentation: a Zastava M-57 pistol, a Crvena Zastava hunting carbine with an optical sight, a Baikal IŽ hunting rifle, as well as weapon parts, 335 rounds of ammunition of various types and calibers, one pistol frame and two ammunition magazines," the Police Directorate said in a statement.
It is added that the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić has been informed about the above.
"Police officers will continue to carry out activities aimed at finding and seizing weapons, ammunition and explosives that citizens hold in illegal possession, all with the aim of suppressing criminal acts and misdemeanors and reducing the volume of crime," the statement concludes.
