Officers of the Crime Prevention Sector - Department for Combating Corruption, Economic Crime and Conducting Financial Investigations, in cooperation with urban construction inspectors of the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property, have, upon the order of the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Ulcinj, filed two criminal charges against ABB (31) and FS (63) for the criminal offense of constructing a building without a building permit and construction documentation, the Police Directorate announced.
"It is suspected that these individuals committed the criminal offense they are charged with by carrying out construction work on illegal structures made of solid materials in Ulcinj, without a prior application and construction documentation, thereby causing material damage of around 26.000 euros to the budget of the Municipality of Ulcinj based on unpaid fees for communal land removal," the statement said.
The police said that officers from the Crime Prevention Sector are continuing intensive and coordinated joint planning activities with urban planning inspectors to combat illegal construction throughout the territory of Montenegro, which, in addition to devastating the area, also causes great material damage to the budget of Montenegro and its citizens.
