The police suspect that Banićević was the organizer of this criminal group.
According to information obtained by "Vijesti", they planned the liquidation of an entrepreneur from Kotor, whose identity is known to the editorial staff.
"Officers of the Regional Security Center 'South' - Kotor Security Department, identified four persons who formed a criminal group with the aim of committing a serious crime and located and deprived of liberty three citizens of the Republic of Serbia, MJ, AS and DT, who are suspected of entering Montenegro with the intention of committing a crime against life or body to the detriment of MR from Kotor, and then identified and deprived of liberty a fourth person, DB, a Montenegrin citizen for whom there is a basis for suspicion that he planned and organized the commission of a serious crime to the detriment of MR," the Police Directorate officially announced.

This Kotor resident, as explained, informed the police of his "suspicion that he had spotted an unknown vehicle near his place of residence on several occasions."
"Officers of the Kotor Security Department took extensive and urgent operational-tactical measures and actions to prevent the commission of a criminal offense, after which they quickly identified the persons MJ (21), AS (22) and DT (20) from Belgrade, citizens of the Republic of Serbia. Shortly after the identification, the aforementioned persons were located, the apartment in which they were staying and the vehicle that they are suspected of using when planning the commission of the criminal offense, after which a search was conducted of the apartment in which these persons were staying, and on that occasion, items were found and seized - suitable means: a wooden bat, a hammer, three plastic masks, then mobile phones and items of clothing that are suspected of being intended for the commission of the criminal offense and which were used in the actions of observing the house and the movements of the injured person," the statement reads.

The three arrested Belgrade residents entered Montenegro in early May and rented an apartment in Budva.
"A check of the records determined that MJ, AS and DT entered Montenegro at the Dobrakovo border crossing in early May 2025, after which they rented an apartment in the municipality of Budva. From the aforementioned location, the suspects drove for several days in a row to a location near the injured party's house, from where, according to a previous agreement and a defined plan, they observed the object and person and took specific preparatory actions that indicate a well-founded suspicion of a detailed planned commission of a criminal offense. Based on the above, and due to suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of criminal association under Article 401, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code to the detriment of one person, MJ, AS and DT were deprived of their liberty," the police say.

After a hearing at the prosecutor's office, a decision was made to order detention for these three suspects.
"The forensic examination of these individuals determined that they were registered as perpetrators of multiple criminal offenses in the areas of property crime, illegal possession of weapons, criminal offenses against public order and peace, and attacks on officials," the police note.
Banićević is charged with the crime of criminal association.

"In the continuation of the reconnaissance operations and activities undertaken to fully clarify the event, DB (41) from Nikšić was identified and deprived of his liberty. He is suspected of having formed and organized this criminal group, which, in addition to him, consisted of DT, MJ and AS, in a way that he was in constant contact with the named individuals, arranged the commission of the criminal offense, planned their arrival in Montenegro, provided them with logistics, pointed out the person and the place of commission of the criminal offense, and gave instructions for the commission of the criminal offense. A criminal report has been filed against DB with the Kotor Prosecutor's Office on suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of criminal association under Article 401, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code," the police said.
They said that the officers of the Police Directorate "continue to take proactive, preventive and repressive measures and actions with undiminished intensity" to suppress and neutralize the activities of criminal groups, individuals and persons associated with them, to prevent the commission of the most serious crimes, "making efforts to preserve a safe environment for the lives of all citizens."
