The Berane police confiscated over 41 euros and a device worth more than 27.000 euros from Serbian citizen NM (10.000), the Police Directorate announced.
The police said that officers from the Berane Security Department, conducting increased activities aimed at combating the shadow economy, checked a cargo vehicle with Rožaje license plates driven by NM from Serbia with a temporary residence in Montenegro.
"A search of the vehicle in the cargo area found 27.505 euros in various denominations and a device for providing cosmetic services worth over ten thousand euros, without accompanying documentation," the statement said.
The police stated that the money and the device were temporarily seized.
"The prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane has been informed of the event and has ordered appropriate checks and expert opinions, after which he will make a statement on the legal qualification of the criminal offense," the statement said.
It is stated that targeted controls in the fight against the shadow economy and other forms of crime will continue to be a priority in the work of officers of the Regional Security Center North, with the aim of strengthening the rule of law and creating a safer and more orderly social environment.
