Đukanović: Mladen Janković was not detained for the attempted murder of Igor Nedović, nor for any other criminal offense

Podgorica resident Mladen Janković was not detained for the attempted murder of fellow citizen Igor Nedović, nor for any criminal offense, but rather gave a statement in his capacity as a citizen, for another criminal offense.

This was written by his defense attorney, Željko Đukanović, in response to an article published late last night.

"In your text published on 19.05.2025, it was stated that my client Janković Mladen was arrested for attempted murder in the City Quarter which occurred on 17. 5. 2025.

This information is incorrect and misleading to the public. Mladen Janković was not arrested nor had any connection to the incident. He was summoned to the police solely for questioning as a citizen, in connection with the circumstances of the commission of a completely different criminal offense.

"After giving his statement to the police, he was released, without any measures or suspicions related to the aforementioned case, or the commission of any other criminal offense," Đukanović wrote.
