The Forest and Hunting Management Administration announced that criminal charges have been filed against a Mojkovci resident suspected of illegally cutting down valuable timber.
"Officers of the Forest Management and Hunting Areas Administration, together with a forestry inspector, discovered illegal logging of noble and valuable Japanese maple in the Štitarica Management Unit, in the Mojkovac Regional Unit. Namely, thanks to intensive field inspections, illegal logging of 9 m³ of noble, valuable Japanese maple was discovered," the statement reads.

"After that, working together with the Police Directorate, the wood assortments that were the subject of this illegal logging were successfully found and seized, and a criminal complaint was filed against the Mojkovci resident and the case was forwarded to the competent authorities for further action," said the Directorate for Forest Management and Hunting Areas.
