Police officers seized a vehicle from a French citizen on Germany's international wanted list and a small amount of marijuana from a Serbian citizen at border crossings, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.
"At the joint border crossing Vraćenovići - Deleuša, at the exit from Montenegro, the person N.Đ. (34), a citizen of the Republic of Serbia, and the vehicle he was driving were checked, and on that occasion, at the second line of border checks and during a detailed inspection of the vehicle, a PVC bag with green plant matter resembling the narcotic drug marijuana was found," the statement states.
The UP added that N.D. was arrested for committing violations under the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse and the Law on Road Traffic Safety, after which the misdemeanor judge fined him 950 euros.
"The inspector for foreigners issued a decision to cancel the residence permit for up to 90 days to N.D., as well as a decision to ban entry into Montenegro for a period of one year," the UP said.
The statement states that the police at the Dobrakovo border crossing controlled French citizen DD (50) and the Mercedes vehicle he was driving, after which it was determined that the vehicle had been internationally wanted by the NCB Interpol of Germany, and on that basis the vehicle was temporarily seized and handed over to officers of the Bijelo Polje Security Department for further action.
