E.Đ. (37) from Bar was arrested because he, as a driver, did not stop at the stop sign shown to him by the police, but fled and on that occasion overtook a full line, then overtook a column of several vehicles, ran a red light at an intersection, and after the police stopped him, he resisted them, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.
The statement states that he committed eight violations under the Road Traffic Safety Act, and one under the Public Order and Peace Act, as a traffic participant.
"A subsequent check determined that the aforementioned driver was driving the vehicle during the period of the driving ban imposed, and that the registration period for the same vehicle had expired, while testing determined that he was driving the vehicle under the influence of cocaine and alcohol in his body. He was brought before a misdemeanor judge within the legal deadline," the statement reads.
The UP added that they also arrested SM (26) from Bar who was driving under the influence of marijuana, IK (35) from Bar who was driving with 1,28 per thousand of alcohol in his body and GV (40) from Bar, who was found to be driving under the influence of five different types of drugs - amphetamine, marijuana, buprenorphine, opiates and benzodiazepines.
"GV was sentenced to 14 days in prison by a misdemeanor judge," the UP statement said.
