Alleged member of an organized crime group (OKG), Ilija Racanović, was arrested in Budva after police found a pistol with a bullet in the barrel and eight more bullets in the chamber.
The Police Directorate (PD) announced that Budva police officers, after checking several members of an OKG, found firearms in illegal possession and arrested one member of the organized crime group, a repeat offender in the commission of criminal offenses related to the illegal possession of weapons.

"Acting on operational information, police officers in Budva conducted a targeted control of a catering facility and the persons staying there, and on that occasion controlled four persons, members of an organized criminal group and persons associated with them: KR (33) from Podgorica, IR (35) from Budva, Ž.K. (25) from Cetinje NP (26) from Cetinje, while within the same targeted activities, PP (18) from Budva, a person who closely cooperates with operationally interesting persons and members of organized criminal groups, was controlled near the facility. During the search of these persons, a Beretta pistol with a bullet in the barrel, as well as eight pieces of ammunition in the frame, was found in IR's possession," the statement states.

The UP added that the competent prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor was informed of the incident, and upon completion of the criminal investigation of the aforementioned individuals, Racanović was arrested on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives.
"As part of the same activities, two vehicles were also seized from the aforementioned individuals for further checks," the statement reads.
The UP said that in February 2025, Racanović was arrested in Pljevlja with four other members of an organized crime group when two pistols with milled factory numbers were found in their possession.
"Also, during police searches in Cetinje conducted last week, a pistol with a bullet in the barrel and an air rifle were found on NP's person, for which the legal qualification of the crime has not yet been followed," the UP statement reads.
