Nikšić police arrested a fellow citizen of SD on suspicion of usury, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.
The statement states that it is suspected that at the beginning of this year, by arranging disproportionate material benefits, taking advantage of his difficult financial situation, difficult circumstances and necessity, he lent 2.000 euros to a person from Nikšić, with the obligation to pay monthly interest of 10 percent.
"As a means of securing the repayment of the debt, or rather a guarantee for the transferred money, SD took the injured party's Audi A3 passenger vehicle as a pledge. Further criminal investigation determined that the injured party had paid the suspect a certain amount of money in the past period as interest," the UP statement states.
The security institution added that the Nikšić police searched the apartment and other premises used by SD, and that on that occasion they found and confiscated an Audi A3 owned by the injured party.
The UP also said that the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office was informed of the incident, on whose orders SD was arrested.
