Albanian citizen EB (23) is suspected of wounding BK, also an Albanian citizen, last night shortly before 22 pm, at the foot of Gorica Hill in Podgorica.
According to unofficial information, the attacker pulled the gun after an argument.
The Police Directorate (UP) officially announced that he was arrested in Podgorica between Blažov and Viseći bridges.
"Police officers of the Regional Security Center 'Centar', taking urgent measures and actions to shed light on the criminal act of attempted murder that was committed tonight at around 21.45:XNUMX p.m. in Podgorica to the detriment of a citizen of the Republic of Albania, BK, established broader measures, blocked the immediate and wider areas of the crime scene, and established increased control at border crossings with the deployment of additional police forces, as well as actively exchanging operational data with colleagues from the police of the Republic of Albania," the statement states.
The Police Department added that in order to provide support to the Regional Security Center "Centar", officers from the Crime Prevention Sector, as well as members of the Special Police Unit, have been made available.
It is stated that the police "in a wider blockade of the area located, isolated and identified the perpetrator of this criminal act in the canyon of the Morača River, between the Blažov and Viseći bridges."
"Albanian citizen EB (23) was deprived of his liberty, who, in addition to Albanian, also possessed Kosovo travel documents," the UP said.
They reported that the injured BK was taken to the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) for medical assistance, where urgent surgical measures were taken.
"The efficiency of the reactive actions of the Police Directorate officers in this specific case is reflected in the fact that, within less than two hours of the commission of the criminal offense, all necessary measures and actions were taken that resulted in the determination and clarification of the circumstances under which the criminal offense was committed, the location, identification and deprivation of liberty of the person suspected of the criminal offense with which he is charged. The suspect EB will be brought to the Higher State Prosecutor in Podgorica for further jurisdiction within the legal deadline, along with a criminal report," the statement reads.
