Customs Administration: The seizure of glasses, case and box is the result of a joint action by our officers and police officers

The seizure of 5.860 pieces of sunglasses and 400 pieces of cases and boxes for glasses with the logos of famous world brands is the result of joint activities of officers of the Customs Administration and members of the Police Administration, Regional Border Police Center "North", the Customs Administration announced today.

They stated in a statement that they had sent a "denial regarding incorrect allegations regarding the seizure of goods at the Dobrakovo border crossing."

"Namely, several reports state that this is an action by the Police Directorate, which is not true. This seizure is the result of joint activities by officers of the Customs Directorate and members of the Police Directorate, the Regional Border Police Center 'North', as we stated in the initial statement," the Customs Directorate said.

The institution reacted to a statement from the Police Directorate stating that the Border Police at the Dobrakovo Border Crossing Point seized a large quantity of expensive glasses, and that a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) SG (44) was arrested on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of smuggling.

The Customs Administration statement states that in a joint action by its officers and members of the Police Administration - Regional Border Police Center "North", on June 4, 2025, an attempt to illegally import a large quantity of goods suspected of violating intellectual property rights was prevented at the Dobrakovo Border Crossing Point.

"During the inspection of a cargo motor vehicle with a trailer with Bosnian and Herzegovina license plates, driven by a person (GS) from Bosnia and Herzegovina, 11 large packages were discovered hidden in the space intended for pallets. A total of 5.860 pieces of sunglasses and 400 pieces of cases and boxes for glasses with the labels of famous world brands such as Carter, Rayban, Prada, Hugo Boss, Armani, Chanel, etc. were found in the packages," the statement said.

The Customs Administration added that the total quantity of seized goods is 6.260 pieces, with an estimated value of 91.500 euros.

"The goods were seized in accordance with Article 208 of the Customs Law, and the case was forwarded to the competent authorities for further action. The Customs Administration and the Police Administration continue with coordinated activities aimed at detecting and preventing cross-border crime, strengthening security and protecting consumers from the trade in counterfeit goods," the Customs Administration said in a statement.
