Border Police Sector officers seized a vehicle wanted by Interpol Switzerland today at the Kula border crossing, the Police Directorate announced.
It is stated that Kosovo citizen TK (43) and the VW Golf 7 vehicle he was driving were checked upon entering Montenegro.
"A check through the police's electronic records revealed that this vehicle is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the NCB of Interpol Switzerland," the police said.
They added that the vehicle was temporarily seized for further checks.
The Police Directorate statement states that officers from the "North" border police have filed criminal charges against two people suspected of smuggling.
It is suspected that Serbian citizen MM (35) transported a professional polishing machine from Serbia to Montenegro, outside the Dobrakovo border crossing, and it was supposed to be picked up by Montenegrin citizen NK (49).
"MM was identified and located in a catering facility in Bijelo Polje, while NK was found at the scene," the statement said.
It is added that MM and NK were questioned and that criminal charges were filed against NK and MM with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of smuggling.
