Budva police yesterday arrested Turkish citizen OTV (51), who is wanted by Kazakhstan.
The Police Directorate announced that they acted on operational information obtained through international operational police cooperation.
"OTV was deprived of his liberty pursuant to an international arrest warrant issued for him by the NCB Interpol Astana, and by order of the Special Investigative Court in Almaty dated March 17.3.2025, 10, for the purpose of conducting criminal proceedings on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of fraud, which is punishable by XNUMX years in prison. Namely, OTV is suspected of having made fictitious contracts during the construction of residential complexes in Astana, and of having committed fraud in an organized manner through other related legal entities, as well as tax evasion on the territory of Kazakhstan," the statement reads.
He was sentenced to extradition custody by the investigating judge of the High Court in Podgorica.
