After being questioned by the investigating judge of the Higher Court in Podgorica, Predrag Madžgalj, Dejan Milić, Radoje Dakić and Ivan Turčinović were released to defend themselves from charges that they were members of the criminal group of Sander Stanaj and former secret agent Duško Golubović, which, according to the prosecution, smuggled cigarettes.
"They were ordered to take a supervision measure, namely a ban on leaving the apartment with electronic surveillance. The defendants PM, DM, RD, and IT were warned, pursuant to Article 166, paragraph 6 of the Criminal Procedure Code, that if they violate the imposed supervision measures, detention may be ordered against them," the High Court's public relations advisor, Ivana Vukmirović, told Vijesti.
In contrast, the investigating judge ordered detention for up to 30 days for the director of the "Plus" company, Prokopi Perić, as well as Mileta Simanić and Adnan Suković.
The same measure was imposed on Sander and Nu Stanaj, Andrija Petanović, Vukot Vujošević, Veton Berišaj and Đok Lješković, who are on the run.
The High Court announced that detention is ordered on various grounds under Article 175 of the Criminal Procedure Code – due to the risk of flight, repetition of the offense, or influence on witnesses, depending on the case.
"Detention is ordered for the accused SS on the grounds for detention under Article 175, paragraph 1, items 1 and 4 of the Criminal Procedure Code, for the accused SN on the grounds for detention under Article 175, paragraph 1, item 1 of the Criminal Procedure Code, for the accused PA on the grounds for detention under Article 175, paragraph 1, item 1 of the Criminal Procedure Code, for the accused Lj.Đ on the grounds for detention under Article 175, paragraph 1, item 1 of the Criminal Procedure Code, for the accused MS on the grounds for detention under Article 175, paragraph 1, item 3 of the Criminal Procedure Code, for the accused SA on the grounds for detention under Article 175, paragraph 1, items 1 and 3 of the Criminal Procedure Code, for the accused BV on the grounds for detention under Article 175, paragraph 1, item 1 of the Criminal Procedure Code, and for the accused PP on the grounds for detention under Article 175, paragraph 1 item 1 of the Criminal Procedure Code," said Vukmirović.
The prosecutor's office previously told Vijesti that a manhunt would be launched for the fugitive members of the criminal group.
The Special State Prosecutor's Office previously announced that it suspects Sander Stanaj, owner of the "Rokšped" auto center, and former National Security Agency (ANB) agent Duško Golubović of being at the head of a criminal group that damaged the state by at least 18.260.352 euros through cigarette smuggling.
The prosecution charges them with the criminal offense of creating a criminal organization and the continued criminal offense of smuggling.
