Nikšić residents AD (25) and PV (23) were arrested in the Trebjesa forest park in Nikšić while consuming marijuana, the Police Directorate announced.
It is alleged that police officers seized the drugs from the scene, while information was collected from AD and PV at the official premises of the Security Department (SB) in Nikšić.
The police said that, on the order of the acting prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić, PV was arrested on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of facilitating the consumption of narcotics to the detriment of AD, and criminal charges will be filed against him with the prosecutor's office.
"AD was also arrested for committing a misdemeanor under Article 52 of the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse and a request was filed against him with the misdemeanor court to initiate misdemeanor proceedings," the statement said.
The Police Directorate said that officers from the Nikšić Police Department, from April to the first half of June this year, filed 14 misdemeanor charges under the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse and arrested 12 people.
