Minor suspected of stealing more than 13.000 euros from a bar in Podgorica

Podgorica police have filed a criminal complaint against a minor (16) on suspicion of stealing more than 13.000 euros from a catering establishment.

15.000 euros were found on him, while another minor, with whom he was in the company, was found to have almost 32.000 euros, which are suspected to have come from participating in games of chance.

"Acting on a report that 13.323 euros in cash from a catering establishment in the Siti Kvart had been stolen, officers of the Criminal Police Station for the Suppression of Property Crime quickly solved the crime of aggravated theft and filed a criminal complaint with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica against a 16-year-old minor on suspicion of committing the aforementioned crime. The minor is suspected of entering the aforementioned establishment on June 11, 2025, searching it and stealing several daily purchases in the aforementioned amount. Through operational-tactical and criminal activities, the minor suspected of this crime was identified and money in the amount of 15.000 euros was found and seized from him, while the amount of money stolen from the catering establishment was returned to the injured party," the Police Directorate announced.

"On this occasion, another minor who was in the company of this person was also checked, and money in the amount of 31.840 euros was found on his person. The money in question was seized for the purpose of conducting further checks in cooperation and on the order of the acting prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, and it is suspected that it originated from participation in games of chance," the statement reads.
